Meet Wendy

Thank you for visiting the Unwind Yarn & Gifts blog! I'm excited to introdce you to Wendy Moynihan, co-owner of this cozy, well-stocked and friendly local yarn shop.

I met Wendy a few years back while she was working on a Savannah movie set. She has worked on most of the movies shot in this area for the last 30 years, but prefers knitting with her Unwind friends.

Wendy was taught to knit as a girl by her Grandma Sarah, and has knit every since. She loves to share her Grandma Sarah's knitting wisdom by teaching new knitters and was thrilled to pass her love of knitting along to her daughter Sarah. You may meet her son Patrick at Unwind helping at a Yarn Tasting or stocking the refrigerator with drinks.

Wendy has knit many of the samples adorning the shop, and frequently teaches a class on tips and techniques that is extremely popular and helpful. I always learn something new every time I see her. She recently finished knitting a couple of samples including this beautiful fall version of the ever popular "Cancun Lace Boxy Top" pattern.
